Many of us have heard of the ‘Sapta Rishis’, but most of us do not know what they have done for the humankind. When we think of these saints, we have a picture of some old bearded men with nothing much to do except some mantra chanting or doing some Havans or yagnas and having lot of spare time. Bharat desh, India is a great country and many great saints lived here and did many things for the benefit of humans. For studying the future, the thumb impression is the basic requirement, which is classified in 108 categories. Each type of impression has certain features for which certain bundle of leaves are available.In this, the person's name, parents' name, marital status, if married partner's name, any major events in the person's life and future,covering one's ups and downs in life are all written in a beautiful manner. To get one's correct leaf, one has to wait patiently. As soon as the bundle pertaining to the thumb impression is obtained, the Nadi reader sits with the client and goes on reading each palm leaf, till all names, details regarding the present and past appear in it. Once the correct leaf is obtained, the future is written on the other side of the leaf and year by year events are mentioned in a very specific and well arranged manner. Even the studies of the children, their qualifications, marriage etc. are mentioned. Various posts in professions like banking, Government jobs, business etc. are also mentioned. One needs to remember that these are written more than 2000 years back. The Rishis have already imagined the nature of births in this age and how would be the fortune and future. Things about love affairs, relations, divorce, accidents,political career, sudden fortunes etc. are aĺl mentioned in these leaves and makes one surprised and at times for some, embarrassment too.

There are mentions about past births too and one will be surprised to find that events that follow in this birth are closely related to it and measures or remedies are suggested to get rid of sins, doshas, etc., so that one can have a better care free life.
